Former UFC champion Jon Jones says he’s willing to drop his beef with UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Daniel Cormier.
In a recent interview with FloCombat, Jones said he will end the rivalry with Cormier after he defeats him later this month. However, in order for the rivalry to end, Cormier must admit Jones is the better fighter.
“This rivalry ends at UFC 214 and after (the fight) I honestly have no problem with Daniel Cormier,” Jones said.
“If he wants to be friends, be a sportsman and realize I’m just the better fighter, that would be great. It would show a lot about who he is. I doubt he’ll do that though, based on how he acted the first time I beat him.”
Jones will fight Cormier for his UFC title in the main event of UFC 214 on July 29.
This will be the second time these two men fight. In Jan. 2015, Jones defended his title by winning a decision against Cormier.
Since that fight, Jones was stripped of his title due to actions outside the cage, which resulted in Cormier winning and defending the title on multiple occasions.
