Jones And D.C. Give A Play-By-Play Of Their Staredown — D.C. Wins Emphatically

UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Daniel Cormier and former champion Jon Jones recently discussed their staredown from Wednesday.

On Wednesday, the UFC held a pre-fight press conference for UFC 214. After the event, Jones and Cormier went face-to-face in front of the media.

Cormier will defend his championship against Jones in the main event of UFC 214, which takes place Saturday, July 29 at the Honda Center in Anaheim, California.

After their staredown, both Jones and Cormier discussed what took place on the stage.

“I felt like his presence was so weak. He felt so small to me,” Jones said. “I’ve been training with so many heavyweights this camp so he just felt so small to me, and I just look down at him and go, ‘You little (expletive).”

Cormier then shared what he thought took place during their staredown.

“After awhile when he stepped forward and I stepped forward, and I stared at his face again, the best thing he could come up with was, ‘With your small (expletive),” Cormier said.

“That’s what he said because he had to break the ice. It was too intense for him. He didn’t like it. He didn’t like that I wasn’t jawing so he couldn’t come back at me. I was looking dead through his (expletive) soul.”
