Former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) competitor and mixed martial arts veteran Urijah Faber was inducted into the UFC Hall of Fame on Thursday. The mixed martial arts legend is the founder of fight camp Team Alpha Male, of which UFC bantamweight champion Cody Garbrandt is a member.
Now Cody Garbrandt has gone to Instagram to share his thoughts on the mixed martial arts legend’s recent induction into the UFC Hall of Fame.
Garbrandt said, “What an amazing honor it was to induct someone that I looked up to since I started chasing my dream of being a world champ! I would always watch his training videos and fights…I knew that’s where I wanted to end up.
“I sent him a tweet at 18 years old saying I’d be coming out to join @teamalphamalemma. Years later, I was finally able to make the trip across country to earn a spot on his team. It was the best decision of my life!
“I gained more than just a “World Title”, I gained a mentor, friend and brother! Thank you for everything you have done for me and all the others you have inspired! I love you @urijahfaber !!”
