Dern is a multiple time Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu world champion. She is widely considered to be one of the best female jiu-jitsu practitioners in the world.
Dern has recently begun testing herself in the world of mixed martial arts.
In 2016, Dern made her professional MMA debut. She won a decision against Kenia Rosas in the Legacy promotion. She has since fought two more times in the promotion. She earned a submission win over Montana Stewart in Oct. 2016. Earlier this year, she defeated Katherine Roy by unanimous decision.
Even though she is undefeated, Dern has failed to make the strawweight weight limit in her last two fights.
