UFC lightweight champion Conor McGregor and Floyd Mayweather Jr. enjoyed the final stop of their world tour press event today in London, England. However, it would appear that Floyd Mayweather initially had larger plans for the previous conference.
While it didn’t work out, Floyd Mayweather reportedly attempted to have Nate Diaz flown out to Brooklyn for the previous conference in New York. However, things simply didn’t work out.
Nate Diaz handed Conor McGregor his only loss within the octagon at UFC 196. The UFC lightweight champion would then go on to defeat Nate Diaz by majority decision at UFC 202.
Ariel Helwani recently took to Twitter to reveal that Mayweather was interested in having the mixed martial arts veteran make an appearance at the conference.
“Mayweather talking about Nate Diaz now. I was told they tried to get Diaz to come to Brooklyn, but couldn’t pull it off in time.” Helwani reported over Twitter.
