UFC Flyweight Champion Demetrious Johnson has hired one of the most prominent managers in MMA to represent him.
On Tuesday, Malki Kawa announced that he will begin working with Johnson.
Johnson hiring Kawa comes shortly after Johnson’s public battle with the UFC.
Johnson and UFC President Dana White have been verbally bashing each other for the past few weeks.
White isn’t happy with Johnson due to him refusing to defend his title against former UFC Bantamweight Champion TJ Dillashaw. Johnson refused to take the fight because Dillashaw has never fought in the division.
Johnson isn’t happy with the UFC because of the way he has been treated by the company, despite being the promotion’s most dominant champion.
Kawa represents many of the best fighters in the UFC today. His client list includes UFC Welterweight Champion Tyron Woodley, Jon Jones, Andrei Arlovski, Frank Mir, Derrick Lewis, Carlos Condit, Yoel Romero, Anthony Pettis, Sergio Pettis, and many other MMA fighters.
Johnson currently holds the record for the most consecutive title defenses in UFC history alongside former UFC Middleweight Champion Anderson Silva. Johnson has defended his title on 10 different occasions.
