Boxing legend Manny Pacquiao believes he was set up in his recent loss to Jeff Horn.
This past weekend, Pacquiao lost a controversial decision to Horn in Brisbane, Australia.
“We led by four or five rounds over him. That why I felt I was set up,” Pacquiao said in an interview after the fight, which aired on ABS-CBN.
“We won the fight,” Pacquiao said in an interview with the Philippine Star. “It’s clear, even if you review the fight.”
Pacquiao’s boxing coach Freddie Roach claims the referee also played a part in Pacquiao’s recent loss.
“The wrestling, getting hit behind the head a lot, it didn’t look good but the referee didn’t pay any attention to it,” Roach said about referee Mark Nelson.
Following this recent loss, Roach said he and Pacquiao will sit down and think long and hard about the possibility of Pacquiao retiring from the sport of boxing.
