UFC newcomer Junior Albini made his octagon debut at tonight’s UFC on FOX 25. The fighter walked away with a first round TKO victory over Timothy Johnson. However, it would appear that Albini has received much more than that from the night’s event.
MMA journalist Ariel Helwani took to Twitter to report that Albini has supposedly not been paid for his last nine fights.
“Backstage, Junior Albini says tonight is the most money he’s ever made in his life. He got paid 0 for his last nine fights. Unbelievable.” Helwani stated.
The reporter then continued, “Albini says he hasn’t been able to buy his 2 year old daughter toys, so she plays w/ empty shampoo bottles. Never had more than 100 bucks.”
That being said, things are now looking better for the UFC newcomer.
“But he got per diem this week so he went to Wal-Mart to buy her toys for the first time. Inspiring, yet heart-breaking stuff.” Helwani reported.
