The Professional Fighters League have officially announced their second event.
On July 29, PFL will host an event that will feature the return of former UFC title challenger Jake Shields.
Shields will fight Danny Davis Jr. in a welterweight bout.
Shields has not fought since his loss in December to Jon Fitch in a welterweight title fight in the World Series of Fighting. WSOF changed their name to the PFL earlier this year.
Despite coming off of a loss, Shields is still regarded as one of the best 170-pound fighters in the world. His MMA record includes wins over UFC Welterweight Champion Tyron Woodley, Demian Maia, Robbie Lawler, Carlos Condit, and Dan Henderson.
Davis is currently on a two-fight win streak and holds an overall MMA record of 13-11-1.
PFL’s second event will also feature former UFC title challenger Yushin Okami as he fights Andre Lobato.
The event will be headlined by a featherweight matchup featuring Andre Harrison and Steven Rodriguez.
