On Friday, former UFC title challenger Jon Fitch earned his first submission victory in over 10 years.
At the inaugural Professional Fighters League event, Fitch fought Brian Foster in the main event.
In the second round of their fight, Foster rocked Fitch with a strong right hand. Foster followed with multiple shots until Fitch got the fight to the ground. Once on the mat, Fitch only took a couple of seconds to lock in a side choke and finish the fight.
In the video below, you can see Fitch submit Foster in their main event fight.
“I call that a ninja choke,” Fitch said in a post-fight interview. “You put the choke in before the guy knows he’s getting choked, he’s going black before he realizes my arms are around his neck.”
This is Fitch’s first submission win since June 2007. At a UFC Fight Night, Fitch submitted Roan Carneiro with a rear-naked choke.
PFL was formerly known as World Series of Fighting. Fitch was the WSOF welterweight champion, but when the promotion changed its name, they got rid of all of their championships.
