UFC 213 saw some controversy in the co-main event featuring former UFC Heavyweight Champion Fabricio Werdum and Alistair Overeem.
On Saturday, Werdum and Overeem fought for the third time in their MMA careers.
Back in PRIDE, Werdum earned a victory against Overeem. While in Strikeforce, Overeem evened the score with a win over Werdum. At UFC 213, both heavyweights got an opportunity to prove who was best on MMA’s biggest stage.
In the end, Overeem walked away with a very close majority decision win.
The first round of the fight could have gone to either fighter. In round two, Overeem got the better of Werdum, but in round three, Werdum came close to finishing the fight.
