Salary Report: Justin Gaethje Top Earner In UFC Debut

Despite making his UFC debut, Justin Gaethje was the highest paid fighter at last Friday’s UFC event.

Gaethje headlined The Ultimate Fighter: Redemption Finale against lightweight contender Michael Johnson.

Gaethje and Johnson fought in a back-and-forth war that saw Gaethje earn a TKO victory in the second round. Even though the fight lasted less than 10 minutes, it is a strong contender for the best fight of 2017.

After his UFC debut, Gaethje went home with $200,000. Gaethje also earned an additional $100,000 in “Performance of the Night” bonuses.

The second highest paid fighter of the night was former title challenger Gray Maynard. After earning a decision win over Teruto Ishihara, Maynard left Las Vegas with $102,000.
