Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) lightweight champion Conor “Notorious” McGregor is gearing up to face off against Floyd Mayweather Jr. on Aug. 26 in Las Vegas, Nevada. With the fight official, fighters and fans are shooting off their opinions on the exciting cross-promotional match up. One of the topics of interest has become a leaked video of Conor McGregor sparring. The video has received harsh criticism pertaining to McGregor’s boxing abilities.
Now former UFC heavyweight Brendan Shaub has decided to clear the air. In an interview on Showtime, Schaub explained that the footage originated in his home gym.
“That was at my home gym. Conor went there just to loosen up, mess around.” Schaub said.
He then continued, “That’s not real. That’s like watching a New England walk through at practice and going ‘God, Tom Brady looks slow today.’ It’s a walk through. That’s not serious.”
