Former Bellator Middleweight Champion Alexander Shlemenko doesn’t agree with the accusations that MMA legend Fedor Emelianenko has done performance-enhancing drugs.
Recently, UFC Middleweight Champion Michael Bisping claimed Emelianenko did steroids when he fought in other countries besides the U.S, which is the reason Emelianenko has struggled to win fights in the country.
Shlemenko says Bisping’s accusations are false, and the UFC champion is just trying to get attention.
“These are unfounded accusations. There is no evidence of Fedor’s use of prohibited substances,” Shlemenko said in a recent interview.
“Mike wants to make a statement. When a strong person loses, on his name they are always trying to make a PR, earn points, say something ugly. This is often found in the modern world.”
Shlemenko says he used to train with Bisping, and even though he doesn’t agree with his statements, he believes Bisping is a good guy.
“Although many fighters, including Bisping, have a desire to offend and thereby attract attention. It’s a pure water image created for fans,” Shlemenko said. “In life, Bisping is very friendly and good-natured. Maybe he really thinks that Emelianenko used dope?”
