Showtime executive Stephen Espinoza has shared his thoughts of his encounters with UFC Lightweight Champion Conor McGregor.
During the press conferences for the upcoming boxing match between McGregor and Floyd “Money” Mayweather, McGregor targetted Espinoza during his verbal onslaughts.
McGregor often referred to Espinoza as a weasel. The UFC champion believed Showtime cut off his microphone during the first press conference.
After the world tour, Espinoza said he wasn’t intimidated by McGregor getting in his face and shared his thoughts on the whole situation.
“At a certain point, you like to think you’re going to take the high road. There is no need as a television executive to inject myself into the promotion. But at the same time, I’m a human being. I’ve got an ego just like anybody else. I’ve got a temper,” Espinoza said.
Mayweather vs. McGregor will take place Aug. 26 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. The event will air live via Showtime pay-per-view.
