Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) light heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier suffered his second career loss last weekend. The fighter faced off against returning rival Jon “Bones” Jones in the main event of Saturday night’s UFC 214. In the end, Daniel Cormier lost to his opponent by knockout.
Following the champion’s defeat, UFC commentator Joe Rogan interviewed Daniel Cormier. With Cormier having just suffered a concussion, Rogan’s decision to interview the fighter has come under some scrutiny.
Now coach to Daniel Cormier, Javier Mendez had come forward with his thoughts on the matter. In an interview with USA Today, as reported by MMA Junkie, Mendez stated “He had no business being interviewed. Bad move. Rogan probably feels bad.”
“I am pretty sure he didn’t know ‘DC’ had a concussion (before the interview began). I’m sure it was after (the interview started Rogan) is when he realized ‘DC’ was not (all) there.” Mendez continued.
