Teammate Not Too Optimistic: ‘Preparing Conor For Floyd Is An Impossible Task’

Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) lightweight champion Conor “Notorious” McGregor is preparing for what may become the payday of his career. The mixed martial artist is facing Floyd Mayweather Jr. inside a boxing ring on Aug. 26. Now one of the fighter’s teammates has come forward with his thoughts on the match up.

Olympic boxer Michael Conlan recently gave his thoughts on the match up and what it has been like preparing the fighter for the bout in an interview with if Fight Hype.

“I back Conor 100 percent.” Conlan said, “It’s almost an impossible task and it has been an impossible task so far. You can’t really go out on a limb and say, ‘Conor is going to win,’ 100 percent. But, he has a chance like everybody that steps into the ring.”
