Jon Jones says UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Daniel Cormier has been a great belt sitter.
After being away from the sport for over a year, Jones will fight Cormier in the main event of UFC 214 on Saturday.
In a recent interview, Jones admitted Cormier has been a good champion, but now it’s time for him to reclaim his position at the top of the UFC light heavyweight division.
“He made a really great belt sitter,” Jones said. “And now it’s time for me to reclaim my throne.”
In the video below, you can listen to Jones share all of his thoughts towards Cormier just days before the two meet once again inside the Octagon.
In 2015, Jones successfully defended his title by winning a decision against Cormier.
Since then, bad decisions outside of the cage have resulted in Jones being stripped of two different championships and being suspended from the sport for the past year.
UFC 214 will take place Saturday, July 29 at the Honda Center in Anaheim, California.
