The UFC has added two fights with rankings implications to its schedule.
With less than two weeks notice, Calvin Kattar will make his UFC debut and fight Andre Fili at UFC 214 on July 29.
Fili was originally scheduled to fight Doo Ho Choi in Anaheim, California. He is currently coming off an impressive win over Hacran Dias last October.
Kattar is currently on an eight-fight win streak going into his UFC debut.
The UFC has also added a pivotal fight in the flyweight division to its Fight Night event in Japan on Sept. 23.
Longtime flyweight contender Jussier Formiga will fight Ulka Sasaki.
Formiga is currently ranked No. 5 in the official UFC flyweight rankings. He is coming off a decision loss to Ray Borg in March. However, Formiga has still beaten some of the best in the division including Chris Cariaso, Zach Makovsky, Wilson Reis, and Dustin Ortiz.
Sasaki is coming off the biggest win of his UFC career. In June, he submitted Justin Scoggins with a rear-naked choke.
