It appears former UFC Heavyweight Champion Brock Lesnar has not taken the necessary steps to make a return to the UFC.
This week, rumors began to spread about Lesnar having a meeting with the UFC earlier this month in order to plan a comeback to the sport.
In order to return to the UFC, Lesnar would have to enroll in the U.S Anti-Doping Agency’s testing pool. Jeff Novitzky, the UFC vice president of athlete health and performance, told MMAjunkie Lesnar had not enrolled in the UFC’s anti-doping program.
“(Lesnar) is not currently enrolled in the USADA testing pool, nor has there been any inquiry on his part to do so,” Novitzky said.
Lesnar last fought in the UFC back in July 2016. He had won a decision against Mark Hunt, but the fight was turned into a no-contest after Lesnar tested positive for banned substances. As a result, Lesnar was given a one-year suspension.
After being suspended, Lesnar announced his retirement from the sport. This resulted in Lesnar’s suspension being put on hold. If he does return to the sport, he would be free to compete beginning mid-December.
