UFC International Fight Week is upon us and on Friday the UFC hosted The Ultimate Fighter: Redemption Finale in Las Vegas.
The night featured an exciting lightweight battle in the main event and the crowning of a new TUF champion, but the night also featured a full night filled with exciting matchups.
In the final preliminary fight, former Invicta champion Angela Hill fought Ashley Yoder.
Yoder landed a few kicks to start out the fight. She later went for a takedown and after a few seconds of struggling got her opponent to the ground. Hill quickly got back to her feet. Hill began landing some kicks of her own. For the remainder of the round, Hill began to dominate with her striking.
Yoder landed a takedown right when the second round started. She managed to secure top position. Despite being on top, Yoder wasn’t able to produce much damage to Hill. While on the bottom, Hill fought to get the fight into her guard which allowed her to get to her feet. Yoder jumped on Hill, but that allowed Hill to get the fight to the ground. After landing strikes on the ground, Hill allowed the fight to get back to their feet. Hill clearly had an advantage when it came to striking. The round ended with Hill landing a combination.
Hill landed a clean right hand early in the final round. Yoder went for a takedown but Hill reversed the position and briefly took her back. Yoder continued to fight for the takedown until she eventually got Hill to the ground. Hill later landed a takedown of her own. Hill once again stood the fight back up after landing a few shots on the ground. The fight ended with both women swinging punches at each other.
