Glasgow, Scotland played host to the UFC’s latest Fight Night event on Sunday afternoon.
On the prelims, Alexandre Pantoja attempted to prove he belongs at the top of the flyweight division when he fought veteran Neil Seery, who is competing in his retirement fight.
Both fighters landed shots earlier in the round. Pantoja briefly knocked Seery to the ground with a punch. Pantoja knocked Seery down again with swarming shots, but Seery stood right back up and began landing punches of his own. Seery’s most successful strike was his punches, while Pantoja was successful with his leg kicks. The round ended with Pantoja landing strikes against the cage, but Seery escaped the position and landed a combination.
Pantoja got the fight against the cage early in round two. He got the fight inside of his clinch and began throwing knees. Seery managed to throw in some elbows before escaping the position. Both fighters found success when standing and throwing strikes. The round ended with both fighters standing close and trading punches and kicks.
Both fighters came out swinging to the start the final round. Pantoja went for a takedown early and got the fight to the ground. Pantoja gained full mount and then took Seery’s back. He then locked in a rear-naked choke and finished the fight.
