More and more people are starting to place money on UFC Lightweight Champion Conor McGregor pulling off the biggest upset in combat sports history.
McGregor is currently scheduled to make his professional boxing debut against boxing legend Floyd “Money” Mayweather.
When people were first able to bet money on a Mayweather vs. McGregor boxing match, the UFC champion was a 10-to-1 underdog. Now, McGregor is only a 4-to-1 underdog according to the betting site Bovada.
The betting site also has McGregor as a +350 underdog, while Mayweather is a -500 favorite.
Even though more people are placing money on McGregor to pull off the upset, he is still a massive underdog against the all-time boxing great.
In a press release, Kevin Bradley, Sports Book Manager of Bovada, said they will need Mayweather to win or it could be disastrous for oddsmakers.
Mayweather vs. McGregor will take place Saturday, August 26 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
