Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) No. 1 contender Khabib “The Eagle” Nurmagomedov was initially set to face off against No. 2 contender Tony Ferguson in the co-main event of UFC 209. However, things simply didn’t work out.
UFC 209 fans were faced with an unfortunate incident, as the night’s co-main event was pulled from the fight card. After facing weight management issues, Khabib Nurmagomedov was rushed to the hospital and the contender’s fight was cancelled.
Since the cancellation of the interim title fight event, fans have been hungry to see the two contenders enter the octagon.
The two fighters have begun trash-talking once more, hinting to a possibility of the two meeting in the octagon in the future. That being said, UFC President Dana White recently revealed that he will pin Tony Ferguson against Justin Gaethje if necessary.
“Dana White says if Khabib Nurmagomedov isn’t good to go in a certain timeframe, he’d consider Ferguson/Gaethje.” Brett Okamoto reported over Twitter.
