This week former UFC Middleweight Champion Luke Rockhold and Yoel Romero traded verbal jabs on Twitter.
Romero was upset after the UFC announced Rockhold will be fighting David Branch in his next fight.
Rockhold will fight Branch in the main event of a UFC Fight Night in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on Sept. 16.
Apparently, Romero wanted to fight Rockhold in October, but the former UFC champion didn’t want to wait that long.
‘You’re the (expletive) that didn’t wanna fight 5 rounds. September 16th was offered,” Rockhold said in a tweet directed at Romero.
“Remember when you were champion and you said no to fight me? That was 5 rounds. Remember the last time you took the easy fight?” Romero said in a tweet with a video of Rockhold being knocked out by current UFC Middleweight Champion Michael Bisping.
Last year, when Rockhold was champion, he was offered a fight with Romero, but he declined in order to fight Chris Weidman instead. Weidman ended up suffering an injury and withdrew from the fight, which resulted in Bisping stepping in on short notice.
