Bellator fighter Rory MacDonald has revealed that he will not fight again in 2017.
On Friday, MacDonald was asked on Twitter if we would see him compete again this year.
“Unfortunately no 4 this year,” MacDonald said. “I was pushing very hard 2 fight atleast once more this year but it doesn’t look like it will happen.”
With MacDonald getting paid $400,000 per fight in Bellator, MacDonald can afford to take the rest of the year off.
MacDonald made his Bellator debut early this year. In May, MacDonald submitted Paul Daley in the second round of their fight at Bellator 179.
Prior to joining Bellator, MacDonald was one of the top welterweight contenders in the UFC.
He left the promotion after losing his last two fights. In his last UFC fight, MacDonald lost a decision to Stephen Thompson. Before that, MacDonald lost a title fight against former UFC Welterweight Champion Robbie Lawler.
