One of the top lightweight prospects in the UFC has turned down his latest offer from the promotion and is testing free agency.
According to his manager, Rashid Magomedov is now a free agent and is in talks with other MMA promotions.
Magomedov has an overall MMA record of 20-2. In the UFC, Magomedov has a 5-1 record.
In his last fight, Magomedov won a decision against Bobby Green back in April.
His only UFC loss was a decision loss to lightweight contender Beneil Dariush in 2016.
Magomedov’s UFC tenure also includes wins over Tony Martin, Rodrigo Damm, Elias Silvério, and Gilbert Burns.
Magomdeov joins a long list of top UFC fighters who have decided to test free agency instead of re-signing with the world’s premier MMA organization. Fighters such as Benson Henderson, Phil Davis, Rory MacDonald, Matt Mitrione, Ryan Bader, Kyoji Horiguchi, and Gegard Mousasi all left the UFC because they were offered better deals elsewhere.
