ONE Welterweight Champion Ben Askren is set to once again defend his title on Sept. 2 in Shanghai, China.
At ONE Championship: Heroes of the Empire Askren will fight Zebaztian Kadestam in his third title defense.
Askren is undefeated in the sport of MMA. He is currently unbeaten with 16 wins.
Askren last defended his title back in May when he submitted Agilan Thani in the first round of their title fight.
Before signing with ONE Championship, Askren was the Bellator welterweight champion. He never lost the title and the belt was vacated when he left the promotion.
Askren’s Bellator tenure was highlighted by wins over Jay Hieron, Andrey Korshkov, and current Bellator Welterweight Champion Douglas Lima.
Kadestam has an MMA record of 9-3 with seven of his wins coming by knockout or TKO. In his last fight, he knocked out Luis Santos at a ONE Championship event back in May.
