On Friday, the UFC revealed former UFC Heavyweight Champion Junior dos Santos had potentially failed a drug test given to him by the U.S Anti-Doping Agency (USADA).
After hearing the news, former UFC title challenger Antonio “Bigfoot” Silva sent out a message saying he doesn’t believe Dos Santos took any performance-enhancing drugs.
“(Everyone) who knows you knows you do not use anything, we believe in you brother,” Silva said in a message directed at Dos Santos on his Instagram.
Dos Santos’ team has come out and released a statement since being notified that Dos Santos tested positive for a banned substance. Dos Santos’ team claims that the former UFC champion has never taken a PED in his life and did not knowingly take any other banned substances.
As a result of his failed drug test, Dos Santos has been removed from his upcoming fight at UFC 215, on Sept. 9, against heavyweight prospect Francis Ngannou.
