UFC Middleweight Champion Michael Bisping says Jon Jones got lucky with his win over Daniel Cormier at UFC 214.
On Saturday, Jones won the UFC Light Heavyweight Championship after he knocked out Cormier in the main event.
The fight ended in the third round. Jones landed a devastating head kick that led to the finish of the fight.
On a recent episode of his podcast, Bisping said Cormier was winning the fight up until the head kick landed. Bisping says the former champion got too reckless and that led to him losing his title.
“He started getting a little reckless as he was chasing him down He started smiling a little too much, and yada yada yada, as he was backing up, the hands were low, the head kick came high, and as you know, that was the end of the fight,” Bisping said.
Even though Jones finished the fight, Bisping went on to say he was frustrated with Jones’ performance and believes the champion could have fought better.
