Legendary boxing promoter Bob Arum has shared some insight on why tickets have not sold out for the upcoming boxing match between Floyd “Money” Mayweather and UFC Lightweight Champion Conor McGregor.
Arum recently did an interview with TMZ Sports and was asked why he thought tickets hadn’t sold out for the highly anticipated fight.
“Because there is a limit to the number of suckers there are,” Arum said.
Arum is not a fan of the fight between Mayweather and McGregor. He says it’s a great spectacle, but it isn’t a good fight.
Arum went on to say that they would need to lower the ticket prices if they want the fight to sell out.
McGregor will be making his professional boxing debut when he fights Mayweather, who will be putting his perfect 49-0 record on the line.
If Mayweather wins, Arum does not think Mayweather’s boxing record should improve to 50-0 since McGregor isn’t isn’t a “real boxer.”
Mayweather vs. McGregor will take place Aug. 26 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
