Heavyweight boxing legend George Foreman doesn’t think Floyd “Money” Mayweather allowed UFC Lightweight Champion Conor McGregor to win the early rounds of their fight on purpose.
On Saturday, Mayweather defeated McGregor in the 10th round of their boxing match by TKO. Despite it being his first professional boxing match, McGregor looked good early in the fight and managed to win some of the early rounds.
“All the experts who trashed the (McGregor/ Mayweather fight) should apologize. It was competitive,” Foreman said on Twitter.
Someone responded to Foreman by saying Mayweather losing the early rounds against McGregor was part of his strategy for the fight.
“I know what it is to get hit with 8oz glove; ya don’t take it in gut 10 rounds unless you gotta,” Foreman said.
After defeating McGregor, Mayweather improved his perfect boxing record to 50-0 and claims he will be retiring from the sport for good.
