UFC Lightweight Champion Conor McGregor is not happy with claims of him being racist.
Boxing legend Floyd “Money” Mayweather has said on numerous occasions that McGregor has crossed the line when it comes to racial comments.
During a recent interview with Showtime, McGregor discussed Mayweather’s racial allegations.
“He claimed I called him a monkey. I never once in my life called Floyd Mayweather a monkey,” McGregor said. “I wouldn’t disrespect any African-American, or any race, by saying something like that. I actually called his two security guards, that are white, two juiced head monkeys because they came up and started getting in my face, but they’re white. I don’t like how that played out. He knows there is no racism from my side, his team knows that, (Leonard) Ellerbe knows that, (Floyd Mayweather) Sr. knows that, so for him to bring that up to me that’s a weasel move. If I was to label him any animal it would be a weasel or a rat because that’s what a rat does. They try to twist words to suit them.
“All I can say is I never said those things and (expletive) you for trying to instigate that I did say that.”
Mayweather vs. McGregor will take place Aug. 26 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
