Conor Ups His Prediction From 4-Rounds To 2 … With Smaller Gloves

UFC Lightweight Champion Conor McGregor has changed his prediction for his upcoming fight with Floyd “Money” Mayweather.

If the Nevada Athletic Commission allows McGregor and Mayweather to fight in eight-ounce gloves, McGregor says he will beat Mayweather within two rounds.

“If we’re in eight-ounces, I’m struggling to give him two rounds,” McGregor said during his media day on Friday.

“And that’s the God’s honest truth. The only reason I’ll maybe give him two rounds is because in this game, the referee stops me from pounding his head into the canvas, and he has 10 seconds to recover. That’s the only reason he might get to the second round.”

McGregor will fight Mayweather in a 12-round boxing match on Aug. 26 in Las Vegas.

Since the fight is happening at 154 pounds, the fight must be fought with 10-ounce gloves. With the 10-ounce gloves, McGregor predicted he would finish the fight within four rounds.

However, next week, the NAC will vote on whether or not they will allow Mayweather and McGregor to wear eight-ounce gloves in their upcoming fight.
