The Controversial Punch That Hurt Floyd… And The Ref’s Bad Call That May Have Cost Conor The Fight

UFC Lightweight Champion Conor McGregor showed a lot of heart and skill in his boxing match against Floyd “Money” Mayweather.

Even though he didn’t walk away with the victory, McGregor proved that he belonged in the ring with one of the greatest boxers of all time.

Before McGregor lost the fight in the 10th round, the UFC champion landed a body shot on Mayweather that appeared to hurt him in the ninth round. When McGregor’s shot landed, he swarmed on Mayweather in the corner. However, the referee separated the fighters and gave Mayweather a chance to recover.

In the next round, Mayweather became more aggressive and landed a plethora of devastating punches that resulted in the referee stepping in and stopping the fight.

With this win, Mayweather is retiring from the sport of boxing with a perfect record of 50-0.
