UFC Women’s Featherweight Champion Cristiane “Cyborg” Justino does not want to fight former UFC Women’s Bantamweight Champion Holly Holm at UFC 217.
UFC 217 will take place Nov. 4. It will be the second UFC event to take place at the historic Madison Square Garden in New York City.
On Monday, reports came out on the UFC wanting “Cyborg” to make her first title defense in New York City against Holm.
Later that day, Justino went to Twitter and said she doesn’t want to fight at the event.
UFC 217 will be headlined by UFC Middleweight Champion Michael Bisping defending his title against former UFC Welterweight Champion Georges St-Pierre.
Justino says she doesn’t want to be on the same card as Jason Parillo, Bisping’s boxing coach, and she doesn’t trust the New York State Athletic Commission.
“I don’t want fight same event (Jason Parillo) coach (Bisping),” Justino said on Twitter. “I’m also not confident in NY commission for big events yet I want Holly in Vegas.”
At UFC 214, Justino won the vacant UFC Women’s Featherweight Championship by defeating Tonya Evinger by TKO. It appears Holm will get the next opportunity at the title, but Justino wants the fight to happen in Las Vegas.
