Former boxing champion Paulie Malignaggi and former UFC title challenger Dan Hardy recently got into a debate on Twitter.
Both Malignaggi and Hardy will be doing broadcast coverage for the upcoming boxing match between Floyd “Money” Mayweather and UFC Lightweight Champion Conor McGregor.
Malignaggi will be doing live coverage for Showtime, while Hardy will be a part of the broadcast team for Sky Sports.
Recently, Malignaggi claimed boxing was a bigger sport than MMA because the Mayweather vs. McGregor fight is taking place in a boxing match .
“I love boxing but it’s not an MMA fight because nobody’s paying $100 to watch a thirty second destruction,” Hardy said on Twitter responding to Malignaggi.
Malignaggi then went on to say boxing was better because former boxing champion Holly Holm defeated Ronda Rousey to win the UFC championship.
“The professional boxer learned how to fight and won by head kick. What point were you trying to make?” Hardy responded.
Mayweather vs. McGregor will take place Aug. 26 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
Not sure about that one buddy. If Boxing were dead then #MayweatherMcGregor would be an MMA fight. Boxing called the shots #RealityCheck https://t.co/4izJhuG61p

I think each dominates in their own realm, boxing fans admit this though at least. How'd that Holm vs Rousey fight turn out again? https://t.co/XpdajD4IJv
