Boxing legend Oscar De La Hoya doesn’t think UFC Lightweight Champion Conor McGregor will have any success against Floyd “Money” Mayweather in their upcoming boxing match.
During a recent interview with TMZ, De La Hoya said there was a better chance of him coming out of retirement and fighting fellow boxing legend Mike Tyson than McGregor pulling off the upset against Mayweather.
“There is a better chance that I come out of retirement and challenge Mike Tyson. I’ll go as far as saying McGregor won’t land one punch,” De La Hoya said.
De La Hoya also said that UFC President Dana White even knows McGregor doesn’t have a chance but says he does in order to promote the fight.
“He knows for a fact that McGregor has no chance once so ever,” De La Hoya said. “We all know. Come on, McGregor is 0-0 in a boxing ring. That’s the bottom line.”
Mayweather vs. McGregor will take place Aug. 26 in Las Vegas.
