Former UFC Bantamweight Champion TJ Dillashaw says it’s embarrassing how obsessed people are with his history with Team Alpha Male.
While talking to Submission Radio, Dillashaw talked about how other fighters always bring up his history with Team Alpha Male.
“It almost sounds like jealousy, really,” Dillashaw said. “It’s gotten kind of childish and really embarrassing with how obsessed Alpha Male has gotten with me and my career.
“I think it’s just all circumstances and the position I’m in. I’m on top, and I’m looking to get my belt back. People, I think, are just a little bit jealous of the lifestyle and what I’m trying to accomplish.”
Dillashaw was a member of Team Alpha Male for the majority of his career. After winning the UFC title, Dillashaw left the team when former Team Alpha Male coach Duane Ludwig left as well.
Even though he says he’s embarrassed with his career being linked to Team Alpha Male, their rivalry is far from over.
Dillashaw is scheduled to fight Team Alpha Male’s top fighter, UFC Bantamweight Champion Cody Garbrandt, in his next fight. The two elite bantamweights will meet at UFC 217 on Nov. 4.
