Former UFC Heavyweight Champion Junior dos Santos has been flagged for a potential anti-doping violation from the U.S Anti-Doping Agency (USADA).
Dos Santos was scheduled to fight heavyweight prospect Francis Ngannou at UFC 215 on Sept. 9 in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. Due to the failed drug test, Dos Santos has been removed from the card. The UFC has yet to announce whether or not they will find a replacement for Ngannou.
Dos Santos failed drug test came from an out-of-competition sample collected on Aug. 10.
Dos Santos is currently coming off a first-round knockout loss to UFC Heavyweight Champion Stipe Miocic back in May at UFC 211.
Prior to the failed drug test, Dos Santos was ranked No. 4 in the official UFC heavyweight rankings. With him test positive for a banned substance, Dos Santos is likely to be removed from the UFC rankings.
