Former UFC welterweight champion Georges St-Pierre recently appeared on The MMA Hour to discuss his upcoming match up with UFC middleweight champion Michael “The Count” Bisping. During the interview, the former champion also offered some of his thoughts on the reigning welterweight champion’s recent performance against Demian Maia.
“The fight was a little big boring sometimes.” St-Pierre said, when discussing Tyron Woodley’s methodical match against Demian Maia. “I think he should have gone a little bit more in offense, trying to hurt Maia more but Maia should have tried more from his point of view… You have to put the blame on both guys.”
St-Pierre then revealed that he himself is doing a lot more training involving techniques for finishing his opponents, rather than for gaining advantageous positions over them.
Georges St-Pierre will face off against Michal Bisping for the UFC middleweight title at UFC 217 on Nov. 4.
