Former UFC title challenger Jake Shields continues to show why he is one of the best grapplers to ever compete in mixed martial arts.
On Saturday, Shields picked up a victory at Polaris 5 in London. Shields dominated in his grappling match against the UK’s own Dan Strauss.
Throughout their grappling match, Shields was by far the more skilled competitor. Shields was able to take the larger man down and was able to pass his guard on numerous occasions.
Strauss kept trying to secure a guillotine choke throughout their battle, but Shields’ pace tired him out and he was unable to finish the submission.
Shields continues to look impressive in both grappling and MMA. He is currently coming off a decision win last month against Danny Davis Jr. in an MMA fight.
Shields MMA career also includes wins over some of the best fighters in the world, including UFC Welterweight Champion Tyron Woodley, former champion Robbie Lawler, Demian Maia, Carlos Condit, and Dan Henderson.
