UFC commentator Joe Rogan believes there needs to be a trilogy fight between UFC Lightweight Champion Conor McGregor and Nate Diaz.
On a recent episode of his podcast, Rogan and retired UFC fighter Brendan Schaub talked about why McGregor and Diaz need to fight for a third time.
In March 2016, at UFC 196, Diaz shocked the world when he submitted McGregor with a rear-naked choke.
In Aug. 2016, at UFC 202, McGregor won a unanimous decision against Diaz to even their score at one fight each.
According to Rogan, the first fight was Diaz’s night, but the second night didn’t belong to either fighter. He says McGregor earned a decision win by knocking Diaz down, but he didn’t have a dominant performance like Diaz did a few months prior.
In the video below, you can listen to Rogan and Schaub talk about McGregor and Diaz.
McGregor is currently training to make his professional boxing debut. On Aug. 26, McGregor will fight Floyd “Money” Mayweather in Las Vegas.
