Last weekend’s historic boxing match may have broken pay-per-view records.
UFC President Dana White has said last Saturday’s fight sold 6.5 million pay-per-views. However, other sources claim that early indicators show that the fight sold less than 4.6 million.
Regardless, the boxing match between UFC Lightweight Champion Conor McGregor and Floyd “Money” Mayweather was a huge success.
Mayweather has proven to be the biggest pay-per-view draw in the history of boxing. During his career, Mayweather has had seven boxing matches that have sold over 1 million buys, and he’ll have one more when the numbers officially come in for his fight with McGregor.
Below, you can see the pay-per-view numbers for Mayweather’s last 15 fights prior to fighting the UFC champion.
Mayweather’s fight with Manny Pacquiao currently holds the record for most pay-per-view buys with over 4 million. Mayweather’s fights with Oscar De La Hoya and Canelo Alvarez are the next two most successful pay-per-views in history. Both fights sold over 2 million pay-per-views.
