Despite low ticket sales, the upcoming boxing match between Floyd “Money” Mayweather and UFC Lightweight Champion Conor McGregor has already made over $60 million.
One of the reasons tickets for Mayweather vs. McGregor haven’t sold out is because of their large ticket price. As of today, the cheapest tickets for the fight are almost $2,000.
However, these large ticket prices have led to the fight already having an impressive gate.
According to Leonard Ellerbe, the CEO of Mayweather Promotions, the fight has already made $60 million. Ellerbe revealed the fight’s current gate during Mayweather’s media day in Las Vegas on Thursday.
Mayweather vs. McGregor is still over two weeks away, and many more tickets are expected to be sold the closer we get to fight night.
Mayweather vs. McGregor will take place Saturday, August 26 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
