MayMac Results: TMT’s Tabiti Wins Cruiserweight Title In PPV Opener

On Saturday, the highly anticipated boxing match between UFC Lightweight Champion Conor McGregor and boxing legend Conor McGregor finally took place in Las Vegas.

Before Mayweather and McGregor met in the boxing ring, a night full of intriguing fights took place at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

In the first pay-per-view fight, Andrew Tabiti fought Steve Cunningham for the vacant USBA cruiserweight title.

Round 1

Both fighters were hesitant at the start of this title fight. Cunningham was the first fighter to land a combination, but it didn’t do much damage. Towards the end of the round, Cunningham unloaded with a few shots and had Tabiti against the ropes.

Round 2

Cunningham started the second round with a clean combination. Tabiti responded with some shots to the body. Tabiti later landed a stunning uppercut. Both fighters traded punches in the final minute.

Round 3

Tabiti landed an effective combination to start the third round. Tabiti later unloaded shots to the body. Cunningham struggled to land shots throughout the round.

Round 4

Tabiti opened the round with multiple quick jabs. Cunningham got more aggressive as the round went on. However, Cunningham struggled to land, while Tabiti landed quick shots.

Round 5

Cunningham came out swinging to start the round. Tabiti kept his composure and continued to show off his speed. Midway into the round, Tabiti landed a plethora of shots to the body and head. Tabibit continued to get the better of his opponent for the remainder of the round.

Round 6

Cunningham came out with a combination, but Tabiti ended up landing punches of his own. Cunningham got Tabiti against the ropes and landed a few shots. The round ended with both fighters trading blows close together.

Round 7

Cunningham came out aggressive and swarmed Tabiti. However, Tabiti managed to show good defense. The referee then warmed Tabiti for holding. Cunningham began to have success with shots to the body against the ropes. In the final seconds, both fighters traded punches to the body.

Round 8

Tabiti landed clean body shots, followed by hard punches to the head, early in the eighth round. Cunningham got the fight against the ropes and began landing punches. When the fighters got back to the center of the ring, Tabiti landed a plethora of body shots. The round ended with Tabiti landing a punch to the head after the referee told the fighters to separate.

Round 9

Tabiti landed a brutal combination to the body early in the round. Cunningham tried to his size advantage to swarm Tabiti, but Tabiti speed advantage was too much.

Round 10

Tabiti was the first to land in the final round. Cunningham was the aggressor but Tabiti has no problems avoiding his opponent. Midway in the round, Cunningham got the fight back to the ropes, but the referee separated the fighters. The fight ended with Cunningham continuing to land damaging shots, while Tabiti landed quick blows.
