Floyd Mayweather Sr. doesn’t think UFC lightweight Nate Diaz should walk his son to the ring in his next fight.
Floyd “Money” Mayweather is scheduled to fight UFC Lightweight Champion Conor McGregor in a boxing match later this month.
The only person to ever defeat McGregor inside the Octagon was Diaz in March 2016. At UFC 196, Diaz shocked the world when submitted McGregor with a rear-naked choke.
Recently rumors have been spreading about Diaz possibly walking Mayweather to the ring when he fights McGregor. However, in a recent interview, Mayweather Sr. said he doesn’t think that’s a good idea.
“Floyd don’t need nobody to walk him out to the ring. Floyd doesn’t need anybody but his family,” Mayweather Sr. said. “People that he had in his corner this whole time. He doesn’t need this stuff.”
Mayweather vs. McGregor will take place Aug. 26 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
