One of UFC Lightweight Conor McGregor’s training partners claims that former boxing champion Paulie Malignaggi didn’t do well in sparring against the UFC champion.
Malignaggi left McGregor’s training camp after photos were released of McGregor landing shots on Malignaggi. One photo even showed Malignaggi flat on the canvas with McGregor standing over him.
McGregor’s teammate, UFC featherweight Artem Lobov, says the pictures are accurate of what happened in sparring, and Malignaggi didn’t land any good shots.
“The pictures show what happened in sparring,” Lobov said.
“Sorry, there wasn’t any good pictures of Paulie because he didn’t land anything in training.”
McGregor is currently training to compete in his first professional boxing match. The UFC champion will be taking his lethal striking power and testing it in the world of boxing. McGregor’s knockout power has won him two championships in the UFC.
On Aug. 26, McGregor will fight boxing icon Floyd “Money” Mayweather at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
