Dillon Danis, who is a teammate of UFC Lightweight Champion Conor McGregor, lost in the main event of Polaris 5 on Saturday.
Danis lost a unanimous decision to Gary Tonon.
After defeating McGregor’s teammate, Tonon mimicked the UFC champion during his post-match interview.
“There was a lot of social media banter in the lead-up to this match, and I’d just like to say to Dillon, I apologize for absolutely (expletive) nothing!” Tonon said.
Tonon won the match by being the more active grappler for all 15 minutes. Throughout the match, Tonon was active with takedown attempts, and also attempted heel hooks on the ground.
Danis is one of McGregor’s main grappling partners. However, the UFC champion does not need Danis to prepare for in his next fight.
McGregor will make his professional boxing debut later this month when he fights Floyd “Money” Mayweather on Aug. 26 in Las Vegas.
