On Thursday, former UFC Women’s Bantamweight Champion Miesha Tate shared one of her favorite memories with UFC President Dana White.
On her Instagram page, Tate shared a photo she had taken with White following her fight with Julie Kedzie back in 2012.
Despite getting kicked in the face, and having her cheek swollen, Tate was still victorious in her Strikeforce battle. Tate submitted Kedzie with an armbar in the third round.
In the photo below, you can see Tate with White after the fight.
White had to have been impressed with what he saw because this was Tate’s last fight outside the UFC.
Tate went on to have a successful run inside the Octagon. Her UFC career is highlighted by winning the UFC Women’s Bantamweight Championship. In 2016, Tate won the title by submitting Holly Holm.
Back in November, Tate retired from the UFC following a decision loss to Raquel Pennington at UFC 205.
